“Honey, is it on?”

“What?” she shouted from across our room.

“The box i brought home last night.” I shouted back, my thoughts scrupulously wandering across every bizarre universe you can think of. Oh! universe? Wierd.

I could almost hear a faint sound of metal striking mind.

“I think the fuse’s burnt” she said with an air of expertise.

“Was this important?” she asked almost waiting to devour my answer.

“Yes, it was a gift.” i replied almost sadly.

“From?”

“The aliens that visited our house last night. They said it was some kind of an idea box that was gifted to them by aliens that visited their house.”

“Ohh , i think we should pass it on too” she suggested.

“Brilliant idea!”

Writing

He worked day and night on a story he wanted to complete.

The deadline looked too scary as days passed. Words kept disappearing , paragraphs kept getting deleted. He had almost completed it when the thought struck. He had to change the structure of the entire story , he had to be liked.

He gave up.

He wanted to be loved not just liked. He knew he would come back because no amount of anything could stop his love for writing.

He gave up on the battle to win the war.

He gave up on a masterpiece.

A Life

Where hath thou vanished?

Drifting among the waves of callousness

Hiding behind the darkness of fear

Will you help us find your twin brother?

Oh Guilt! Eating mankind everyday

Plotting on the pyre of consciousness

Burning it bare , naked

Till the very last flame vanishes.

And then flooding the heart,

With cascades of memories

Bringing tears , every drop

More intense than the last.

Dark storm rising , rippling guilt

Tearing away shards of mistakes into one

Saving the consciousness

In a dire act of faith.

Oh! Mistake , why does thee torment?

Hiding crookedly in thoughts

Luring for a certain time

And then strike with your brother Guilt

You both have done enough damage

Wiping entire Kingdoms,

Threatening an entire civilization

Destroying love even in the time of cholera.

Light amidst the dark of darkness

Hope! Thee land among , light as a feather

Giving a strange feeling ,

A fleeting grace.

Lightning! Flood! Rampage!

All things being born new

The world looks different with love.

The Nature , Our mother , teaching us to love.

And then we learn to love

Mistakes doesn’t matter ,

Only the need to be felt alive , to love

Sweeping our very instincts.

Choose now! Mistake,guilt or love,hope?

The choice , the deepest desires not denied

Love? Love in mistakes done or mistakes in choosing love?

Hope? Hope in guilt being gone or guilt in hope staying?

Our life , orchestrated by Nature

A path , a faith renewed.

The ability to love , The rightness

Eclipsed every mistake made along the way.

Flying into

He gazes at the different hues of ribbon covering the sky , it is a pattern he is not familiar with. The unfamiliar always dangerous.

He breathes several times and makes up his mind, he will once again soar the skies.

That is when the light hits his eyes. A brief second of absolute joy. He observes the sky and finds the path , the pattern now looks familiar.

The small hole that would let his soul soar , he rises up flying into the sky , flying into  freedom.

To Unite

It was the oldest tree that spoke first.

“We have to unite them.”

It took a while for the others to understand and when they did they all agreed.

The youngest was angry ” Life isn’t fair for us , we have to be in only one place all the time , look at that girl she has fought with that man now and they have separated , he may come back and when he does things are gonna be alright. Atleast they get a change”

“My dear” replied the oldest one ” We don’t move , so we fight rarely and when we do , we see each other every moment , so we forgive faster”

“So how do we unite them?”

“We don’t , time will.” smiled he.

A Heavy heart

Darkness pops up in the bizarre of times , unexpected.

A heavy heart dwindles upon the news , shattered.

Memories flash , lessons learnt , friendship forged.

Poised assurance looms , abandoned.

Come back , magnified.

Love ,

Nitin Nadig

“Mark…Mark….?”

“Oh.. Hi Kathy , i was bit lost there , how are you?”

“I was actually worried about you. I am fine. Why are you standing here from the past three hours staring at the picture on the wall?”

“Because i have never seen anything more beautiful than this.”

“Well what’s this , a snapshot of nature?”

“It’s more than that actually. Listen i am gonna try and explain , i have been lost in this beauty. Do you see the reflection of the tree over , the synchronicity of their being , as if they are greeting each other from different words. Look at the water , so tranquil as if helping the tree serve a higher purpose. The wonder of creation , a creation’s wonder.”

“Well mark i do appreciate the beauty but i do not understand your words. It’s so weird.”

“I didn’t expect you to understand Kathy, did you notice the a flower there , a tiny beautiful white soul?”

“Well yes…”

“You seem like that to me , standing at a site of nature’s perfection , being a part of it yet ignorant of that beauty.”

“Mark?”

“Oh well come on let’s go , i know what i want to be in the future.”

“What?”

“Well , a photographer.”
